Oskar Is My Highly Ineffectual Guard Puppy / The Pain of Waiting for the Unknown
Oskar is a nervous cat. He's anxious and afraid of everything due to the abuse he suffered in early kittenhood before we rescued him. Despite his issues, though, he stands guard by me when he and I are home alone, always facing a doorway so he is ready to raise the alarm should some evil try to sneak in.
Even though he's had nine years away from the bad people, and they're definitely not coming back for him, he thinks that they're still out there on the other side of the door. He waits for them. Once, he lost control of his bowels at the sound of high heels knocking on the hardwood.
I know the pain of waiting for the unknown, little dude. I sometimes do it, too.
