Elan's March 2018 Mixtape

The songs in this month's playlist range from 1979 to 2018. The first one isn't a song at all, but U.S. Girls' "Why Do I Lose My Voice When I Have Something to Say" speaks to me, because I feel like I've lost my own voice lately, at least when it comes to writing. Don't be sad, though. I'm writing one haiku every day, and 17 syllables is better than no syllables. That's 1020 syllables so far this year!

As has become usual with these mixtapes, I try to have some kind of flow, so we start off so slow that it's hardly even music, and then we get slow and folky, and then we get poppier, and then we move into some electronic and dance music until we hit Janelle Monáe, who damn near levels the joint. So, you'd better dance, or you'll be doing it wrong, and we've all done it wrong enough already, don't you think? Happy listening!
