Daily Doodle No. 4: Making For the Sake of Making
I am in deep need of creating just to create, making for the sake of making.
I find more and more that there is tension between my commercial and non-commercial work. Sometimes that tension feels ugly and negating, and sometimes that tension drives me to do better in all areas. At no point, though, is my making, either commercial or non-commercial, free from the other. As with every other part of my life, I create in the grey areas without clear boundaries.
Daily doodling has me taking this into consideration — the what, when, where, why, and how — and reconfiguring, however mercurially at this point, how I perceive what I do across the spectrum.
