79/365: Angling Through

Why wake from the beautiful dream
of benevolent circuits and wires,
cables and towers and waves?
Reality is a curious experiment
shifting without seams;
truth is a translucent lens —
not a bedrock —
a key, a door, a cipher.
Our narrative strung from plastic and words
is as much truth as truth,
and we are the fish and the fisherman,
angling through.

I am writing one poem every day in 2016, and I am using the hashtag #365poems to document my progress.
