Blundstone Boots Giveaway: You Want 'Em, and I Got 'Em
As you know, I don't do a lot of giveaways on this blog. That is because most products out there are terrible. It's true. That's why you should listen to me now, though:
makes great boots.
, but I misplaced my pair when we moved. I bought my own pair of Blundstones to replace them last fall, because these black, chisel-toed babies sang their siren song to me, and you need to see a picture of what my boots look like when I am squatting over a pillow:
The Winters come with Thinsulate™ and a pair of genuine sheepskin insoles to keep your feet extra warm, which has been fabulous during this polar vortex madness under which we've been suffering temperatures as low as -59°F with the wind chill.
If you're wondering why there are no outdoor shots of our man Palinode in his boots, it's because our weather has been exactly this stupid, and my iPhone is my camera. The feet stay warm in these babies, but the fingers do not, and I am not about to walk around outside in this ridiculousness without gloves on so I can shoot pictures my husband's feet:
The Palinode has already been wearing these daily for three weeks, but they didn't need any breaking in to get comfortable, which is something I love about my Blundstones, too. You put a pair on, and they're kind to your feet right from the start. I blister easily, but never in my Blunnies.
I also like how they fit close around the ankle, but there are no laces to do up or catch snow. The tops of the boots fit easily under even close-fitting pants, which means that you don't have to clomp around in giant boots all winter if you don't want to carry extra indoor shoes around with you.
On top of having Thinsulate™ and genuine sheepskin insoles, the Winters also have waterproof sealed seams, waterproof leather, and waterproof elastic, so you will stay warm and dry.
The soles have decent traction on ice and snow, and they're oil and acid resistant, too, for all that oil and acid you might have to walk through. You never know.
For old times' sake, lets revisit my 2011 Blundstone soft shoe:
I know I go on, but I used to be a shoe salesperson. It's in my blood, but don't just take my word for it. Here's
following three solid weeks of wearing the Winters (click on the upper left of the video to turn the audio on and off) (Also, ignore the spots on our floor. I spilled coffee.):
