Corn Pops and Froot Loops with Watered Down Coffee Cream (aka Why This Is Not a Cooking Blog)

It is time for Sunday night supper, but you are low on groceries and too lazy to even think about cooking. What to do? Dig through your cupboards until you find a package of mini cereal boxes you bought for camping. You don't camp, but you felt pretty good at one time being prepared to camp.

Out of milk? Don't worry! Mix one part coffee cream with four parts water.

Convince yourself that this is perfectly acceptable.

Add the  coffee cream  "milk" to the bowl of Corn Pops and Froot Loops.

Voilà! Enjoy your Corn Pops and Froot Loops in watered down coffee cream! You've come a long way, baby, and success tastes  sweet  pretty much like recycled grains infused with just enough nutrients to be labelled as food.

Relate, don't hate.

Still, it feels a bit like Sunday nights did when I was a kid, and I feel the need to watch an old movie from those days like The Cat From Outer Space or The Devil and Max Devlin. There was a deep comfort in plunking myself down in front of the tv in my jammies after a hot bath to watch The Wonderful World of Disney while I dug into a bowl of instant food, whether it was Alphaghettis, sugary cereal, or a bowl of Campbell's soup. It was all warm skin, soft pajamas, and the ease of familiar entertainment. I think that was the greatest decadence I will ever have the privilege to experience.
