345/365: Faith In Icebergs

You are not defined
by the work you create.

This spreads cold through me.
I lack faith in icebergs.
I fear the shining light,
the surgeon's scalpel that would reveal
the dissonance between
the public, interpretive gaze
and what lies beneath.
Even Peter Pan
chose to slip
out of his shadow.
