303/365: Circling Your Vision

Aidan along the riverside in Saskatoon

I circled around you vision.
There was no other way to hack it
but to follow and trace,
pick out your eyeline,
ferret out the subtleties
of breath and shifting weight.
You moved through the mood of autumn trees,
feet shuffling through leaves and deadfall,
eyes close and careful as you squared off frames,
and I watched the hunch of your shoulders
for a clue.
