When we arrived home from a long supper out with friends and family, we found that we had left the television on. The same episode of the same show was playing that had been on when we left, only now it was at an earlier part of the episode.
"It's like we didn't just go out for a five-hour supper," the Palinode said.
"No. It's like we did go out for supper, only it took minus twenty-seven minutes," I said.
"It was light out when we left, and now it's dark, so not only have we travelled back in time, but the sun died while we did it."
"That's terrible," I said, shaking my head. "Time travel, dying suns. None of this bodes well for our future."
"Oh, I think you'll find that everything'll turn out alright," he said.
