The Inaugural Canadian Weblog Awards

A couple of days ago, I mentioned that I had a secret new project I was working on, and I'm finally ready to show it off.

I have long wanted Canada to have a juried weblog awards so that we could showcase our most talented, entertaining, informative, creative bloggers, and then, crazy as it may sound, I had a dream about three nights ago that involved Jian Ghomeshi, Alec Couros, and the Sinéad O'Connor from her "Nothing Compares 2 U" days. I don't know why Sinéad was there, because she did nothing but stand around with a single tear running down her face like a perpetually sad clown. At least Jian wrote interview questions while Alec lectured us all about social media. That meaningful weepiness thing got us nowhere.

I woke up the next morning and knew immediately what I had to do. I created the Canadian Weblog Awards:

Yeah, I totally did. No thanks to Sinéad.
